Yes, this website currently is in a state of creative disengagement. In the vernacular, it sucks. I haven't updated it since I started my year-long vacation on September 1 '08.
But I've heard your cries, your wails, the gnashing of teeth. We are currently planning to blow this site up and completely re-design it from the ground up. To use the pretentious new term Hollywood loves, we're "re-imagining" the site.
There will be lots of new features and more opportunities for participation. And more original content.
So, we're working on it. Give us a month or so. In the meantime, you can find me and Liana on Facebook: She's under 'Liana K' and I'm 'Ed T. Sock'...because facebook doesn't allow 'the' as a middle name.
And YES we've heard you asking incessantly for us to come back to TV - and we're going to. I just wanted a year off...after 18 years of a weekly show, wouldn't you? Also, where our next show lands is important. At CHUM (Citytv, Muchmusic) the owners we're secure enough to let me do my thing without heavy tampering. Mostly. So we're talking to people now to find the right place that will let me do what I do best. There are some serious opportunities being offered, a couple of which may be exactly what we're looking for. But we're being cautious and not rushing into anything. Besides, I haven't had my year off yet.

The other day, I was talking to a friend in Toronto and he asked me if the Much store would still be carrying Ed gear now that Much and CityTV are not the same company. "Ha ha!", I laughed. "You think the Much store kept our gear in stock when we were making our show next door?" Yeah, well that store is closing in two weeks. Yeah, as in gone forever. Did you hear about this? Some teenage girl realized that she hasn't enjoyed watching MuchMusic for a long time, and that Ed's Fromage and Smartass specials were the best things on the channel in it's heyday. So she's taken to the streets and launched a grassroots campaign to Get Ed Back on Much!
